About The Swedish National Defence College:
The Swedish National Defence College (Försvarshögskolan) was established as a national university college on January 1, 2008, with the right to issue academic degrees. This implies that we can now offer civilian university study programmes to a greater extent than before.
The College’s task is to contribute towards national and international security through research and development. Research is carried out in diverse, but inter-related subject areas and subsequently disseminated to other interested sectors of society both nationally and internationally.
Part of the research conducted is an inter-agency initiative (Games for Defence) to explore the possibilities of games and gaming for future training and education. This is a comprehensive approach which includes games research, game testing, prototype development, technology evaluation and trends analysis of the commercial games industry.
