Description

Planetary Conquest story follows two tribes that accidentally activated an alien teleporting device that transported them and their home castles to a mysterious planet. Shortly after war breaks out between the two tribes where both are fighting to conquer the planet. The players take the role as one of the tribesmen. There are four different classes you can play as: worker, warrior , archer and thief. Every class has different strengths and weaknesses. The player starts out as a basic worker. To access new classes and abilities the players must work together with their team. Gathering resources and defending their buildings from the enemy team. As the team builds new buildings it unlocks different classes. Upgrading these buildings gives the classes improved strength and abilities. The team must adapt their buildings and upgrades to counter the enemy team. The goal of the game is to reach the target score before the other team or have the highest score when the game time runs out. You gather points by putting resources into the teams bank. Defeating enemies, constructing buildings, plus you get a huge point reward for destroying the enemy teams castle. If your castle gets destroyed you receive a limited time to gather resources and rebuild it, otherwise the team will lose.

Concept feedback

"- How long does a round last? Keep in mind the jury should be able to experience enough of the game to pass judgement in a short time frame (5-10 minutes).
- Try not to go overboard with adding new buildings to the game as well."

I'm pretty sure there where resource gathering in savage :P, but no matter, being unique is grossly overrated and all but necessary, i hope you can make a good game, good luck.

Yo

Just stumbled across your page and noticed that our games are rather similiar. It will be exciting to see how it all turns out!

Peace

Yeah, it sure does sound alot like it. To answer your first question: One major difference we have here is the resource collecting. Without resources you cannot build the buildings you need and therefore you'll most likely suffer some major losses if the enemy team decides to go for the buildings (and therefore gaining access to some better classes). To support the resource system and make players use it, we're also making sure that you'll get a decent amount of score from harvesting resources and killing other players.

For your second answer: Yes, we're right now doing it multiplayer only. There will perhaps later on be a standalone-singleplayer version, but for SGA we're only doing multiplayer. :)

This sound a lot like Savage, what differences will there be between this game and Savage? when thinking about major gameplay elements.

And the mandatory question: Will there be multiplayer over network? :D

I always liked this concept and I'm very much looking forward to see what you'll create with it.
